Level 2 Award in Understanding Nutrition, Performance and Healthy Eating

“Surveys consistently highlight that the population of the United Kingdom is eating too many ‘free sugars’, too much saturated fat and salt, and not enough fruit, vegetables, fibre and oily fish”

NHS

Statistics gathered between 2018-2020 by the Government and the NHS, showed that the percentage of people aged 16 and older in England who ate 5 portions of fruit and vegetables on a usual day was 55%. In July 2022, the Government’s “obesity profile” estimated that 25.3% of adults aged 18 and over were living with obesity in November 2020 to November 2021. With obesity being on the rise and the English population still eating too much sugar and saturated fat, now is the time for everybody to update their knowledge on healthy eating.
